Plastic Injection Moulding

Plastic Injection Moulding:

Plastic injection moulding is a fast, repetitive process that produces high volumes of identical parts. The majority of all manufacturing sectors use injection moulded parts. Through the use of plastic injection moulding there is a huge flexibility to design practical parts.

Why choose Injection Moulding?

Plastic injection moulding provides flexibility in material and colour choice at low labour costs. This is because plastic parts can be made with very little assembly needed. At CJ Tool and Mouldings we are always trying to help develop the best product possible to suit your desires. We therefore have constructed a Design Guidelines section on our website to provide you with the very best of knowledge regarding plastic injection moulding. Not only this but inclusive to the production of your part, we always apply our very own Innovation Filter. This is incorporated into each project in order to provide an added value service in which we can identify ways to improve the part or potentially save you money.

Our Plastic Injection Moulding Machines:

The machines used at CJ Tools and Mouldings consist of a material hopper, a plunger and a barrel. The machines secure the plastic mould in place whilst pressure is applied. We have a selection of industry standard machines available to suit your specific needs, this can also depend on what material is being used.

How Plastic Injection Moulding works

To provide a brief breakdown, the chosen material is injected into a mould. At this point, it’s left to cool and once ready, it is then removed. This sounds straight forward, however there are multiple complex steps used for an efficient plastic injection moulding process. This includes the clamping of a product through to the removing of the mould at the ejection stage. For more information, read about the plastic injection moulding process by clicking the link.
